Parkvue Nursing Center is the second phase of the Parkvue Place Retirement Community. The core of the 100 bed facility revolves around a dramatic 30' high rotunda, with administrative offices, a spacious activity room, a chapel a private dining room and kitchen. A drive-through canopy leads residents and visitors into a beautiful lobby with a cathedral ceiling and fireplace.
The resident units, connected by corridors to the core area are grouped into separate pods, including two 30-bed nursing pods, a 20-bed Medicare pod and a 20-bed Alzheimer's pod. Within each pod, groups of ten living units are clustered around residential-like parlors and common gathering spaces warmly enhanced by the extensive use of wood moulding, trim and pleasant finishing materials. The cluster concept greatly reduces the 'corridor' effect end provides room-to-room circulation similar to the traditional home environment. Each pod features a spacious dining room with a service kitchen, and a centrally located nurse station and bath. The dining rooms are especially elegant, with slope ceiling, wood light valance and decorative trim, and in the 30-bed pods, a fireplace with bookshelves.
The exterior of the building reflect the warm 'home-like' atmosphere to be found inside, with brick and stone veneers and residential-type pitched roof components..
