Lake Vista of Cortland

This project for Lake Vista of Cortland, is the Assisted Living Phase of a new Retirement Community that includes 37 congregate apartments in a three floor I-1 structure to be licensed as assisted living. As well as, 36 additional traditional heavy care assisted living units in a one floor I-2 structure. Also included is a community space with commercial kitchen, dining room, and service spaces, along with a centeral lobby, resident store, craft room, salon, lounges, administration, and support spaces.

The exterior and interior design of the building reflect more of a residential home than that of an institutional facility. The interior is enhanced with extensive use of crown, chair rails, dados, and other various mouldings, six-panel doors, and quality finishes. The style of Architecture can be classified as Traditional American Residential Architecture which is a blend of many styles.

All units have a call system in the bathroom and in each bedroom. For additional protection smoke detectors, which are interconnected to the call system, are installed adjacent to each bedroom door. The units are separated with one hour fire separation walls.
